“Bay Puppy”
Clove oil paint on Belgian linen
Harbor seals are common in protected waters around Kodiak Island. They can be particularly pesky to salmon fisherman as they love to feed on salmon. In the water they resemble the head of a dog swimming by. Very often they spy on you as you are walking the beach or working on the boat, and once discovered they continue watching.
